Nanook
Snow drifts, ice floes and the northern lights. It’s freezing cold at Christmas in Lapland – best to stay at home by the fire! But then hunter Panook loses his best friend, Nanook the dog, while they are out fishing. No-one wants to spend Christmas all alone! What will happen to them out there in the snowstorm? Will they find each other in time? “
It’s true, I tell you! Far, far away in the north there lives a giant. He hides away in his cave, all alone, because he’s so huge that every living creature is afraid of him. When he feels lonely, hailstones start pouring from his eyes and his thunderous song booms out across the snowy countryside. His song brings snowstorms and blizzards. Everyone rushes to take shelter, saying: the giant is singing again.”
This production won two prizes at the Mateřinka festival 2021 – one for Kateřina Císařová’s acting, and one for the music by Ivo Sedláček.
